Alex Ranken is an Emmy Award-winning director of wildlife, adventure, and specialist factual television. With a distinctive passion for blending genres, he brings fresh perspectives to natural history storytelling. Currently, Alex serves as the Creative Director of Wildlife at Plimsoll Productions, where he continues to push creative boundaries. Alex also leads Plimsoll’s Immersive department, producing content in AR and VR. His recent credits include acclaimed shows such as Secret Garden (BBC1), A Real Bugs Life (Disney), Tiny World (AppleTV+), The Wild Ones (AppleTV), and Stephen Fry’s A Year on Planet Earth (ITV).
